Finaly solved the Progress program, the check-confirmation dialog only pops up after changing the delivery/invoice address if there is one of the non-protected fields change on it.
Started on problems in spain (see Todo page).

There is a problem with the OMSI to OFI transfer in Norway. Nothing seems to arrive in OFI. This works correctly in other opcos so I suspect a problem with the messages in CS. First step is to check where and how data is passed to F58061 before CS gets at it.
Finaly found the KBC papers (stocks).

egg
I checked again, but the F58061 is filled by OMSI-3. When I notified John of this I suggested he'd check with Jos Gielens to go over the messages again. For Norway OFI is new so they didn't have a preexisting situation. This is not something that is broken but rather something that doesn't get started.
See
here for a conclusion.

I checked out the second problem in spain , try out tomorrow.

I tested out a few things in my html local pages. I wanted some pages, ex the Todo and PRS pages, to be available to everyone in Venlo. Originaly I copied them over to the L: drive, in the directory structure for Gui/400. This is not a good idea because then there is a risk of puting them on the CD for distributions. The AS/400 is a better bet I think.
In fact the whole of the non-local pages of this site are now located on the AS/400. Everything but the Home page and the callender are accessable so that I can put an URL in an e-Mail to someone here in Venlo.

I checked out the
second problem in spain yesterday, I tried it out today. I disabled the F8 in OMS734R for user QMBR (Marc) and it works. I mean F8 doesn't work for Marc but still works for me. Maybe they changed something in the program locally.

Next subject is problem 3 in spain. Creating a related order via OMSI-3 is not obvious, you must go via History and select an existing order to make the connection. Via TeleSales it is not easier but is at least obvious.

I had to fix some links on the webpages, everything now points to the AS/400. All the pages I put on the AS400 work but they are definitively slow compared to the other servers. The slowness is caused by making a connection to the AS/400, subsequent pages go reasonabley fast. So when visiting this as a site there is not realy a problem but I mainly put these page on a publicly accessable place to be able to send URLs to questions, problems and solutions via e-Mail. This works but the slowness of the AS/400 connection is rather discouraging.

I finally got my hardware inventory more or less completed. It runs to 45 pages, not high density but then the inventory is not exhaustive either. The next step is putting all this stuff in a presentable and searchable format. Maygbe HTML or a database.
Software still do do !!!
We got a new load of wood for the benches in the computer room.
I also braught 50Kg of salt for the water treatment container. Cleaning it out first was not at all easy because the old salt had formed a solid layer of about 20cm on the bottom, blocking the water circulation. I actualy had to use the geologist hammer to get it out. I sure hope it will take another 20 years before it has to be cleaned again.

1999-01-31, Sunday

The light switch for the outside illumination has a broken swing-pivot. We totally disassembled the thing and cemented the pieces toghether again. Now it works again. Sort of. The problem is that we don't have a wiring diagram for the house and the switch conects via 4 cables, normally you only need 2. Maybe there used to be (or was planned) a second switch for the light although it is not a double-loop switch. We may need to replace it altogether but then we must also find out where the other extra wires run to. It is nice to live in an undocumented house that hasn't been build according to the plans.

My own birthday
