Easter mondy is a public holliday here.

Took the time to reinstall an operating system on Mita, the Mitac 486 notebook. Which was more eventfull than I expected.

And the tiger has to be fed again.

A rather uneventfully day. Not very productive either.

Mita works now with Win3.1 but the card bus drivers don't want to cooperate.

Feeding that murderous cat takes more time than I thought it would, leaving hardly enough time to finish these notes.

Got to the end of the Conditions problem and now it is not a problem. The conditions shown are only conditions based on a percentage. This was explicitly build in and documented in the source so we assume it was put in the specifications for the program.
I did make a rather detailed description of the file filling routines in that program. Typically writing specs after the job is done. I think I got it all sorted out more or less.

The cat doesn't seem to eat his dinner. He is trying to eat me in stead.

I started out finishing off the conditions documentation. Then I went to Spain. Virtually that is, via pass-through. They have a problem with the statistics file S3. All the invoices that are made by OMSI-3 end up in the invoice header and detail files (HI&DI), they should also have a record in the statistics file. This is not the case. They have a bit more than 300.000 invoices that don't show up in the S3. And 73 S3 records that don't have a corresponding invoice.
I didn't see any trend in the missing data so I started tracing the S3 filling code. This automatically provides another part of the ongoing documentation war. Another battle was won but the ultimate victory stays impossible. Tomorrow I have to check the OMS762R program for the used values, after that I can start filtering the Spanish data. We'll get there, not fast but clean.

Odysseus has not eaten his regular meal, only the special stuff. Today he'll have to make do with what is left. He starts to know that I don't like to be ripped to pieces, I only contacted his claws twice. Maybe I will survive the week.

Back to Spain today.

I figured out the programs that handle the S3 filling, which is directly related to the trigger file handling. The problems they have should have started after the 20th of February. Maybe. After slogging trough the data we find that all the records that should be in S3 are still present in the trigger file. If we find out why they don’t pass from trigger to statistics we can easily correct the situation.
But we don’t have a clue. Debugging may help.

Peter comes back from holliday this night so the it will be the last feeding feenzy for Odysseus.

Shopping and car washing, my car this time, uses up the whole morning. In the afternoon I collected all the material for a small greenhouse Peter is building for his tomatoes. He has got the frame and foundations about ready so now we bought the glazing. Well Plexiglas and polycarbonate panels because glass is to heavy and brittle for the foldable designs that my brother usually come up with.

I did set up a fight with Mita but I lost. Again. The problem is that the card bus installation program will only run under Windows but, without the drivers installed Windows doesn’t see the PC Card slot and the installation program aborts because it isn’t able to contact the slot. A typical chicken and egg problem. I need the PC Card for the SCSI card to be able to connect my external Plextor SCSI CD drive. Without it I cannot install Win9x or Linux. I know there must be a way to crack this (every egg can be cracked to get at the chicken inside it). I ‘ll win this war, ultimately.

The running this morning posed no problems. It was short of course, about 1.5Km.

The rest of the morning and part of the afternoon was spent on gardening; We planted potatoes at home. Next week the rest of the potatoes will be buried alive at Peters garden. Radishes and peas are sown as well. A bunch of flowers (Violets) are planted out from the large eternit bowl which is now ready for new seedlings.

The evening was spend on reading and on The End Of The World (a radio program on VRT with reports and stories from all over the world or, as they say, a journey trough time and space.).
